What I’m thinking: Rodimus is terrified of his legacy. Being remembered as the Prime that Failed. He’s not selfish he is haunted by his past failing and his continued short comings. The destruction of Nyon, the backfiring of the decepticon and autobot trauce, loosing the matrix, the Lost light launch, Overlord, Getaway, and most recently loosing Megatron the leader of the decepticons set to be tried by the knights of Cybertron to an alternate reality.

Everything he does backfires, Yes! Sometime due to his rebelliousness, his brashness. But most of the time ots due to his poor reputation, and peoples lack of respect, that cause people to undermine him. Rodimus is not a stratagist, he’s not experienced with command, he is used to fighting each day as it comes. Everyone expects so much from him that he can do nothing but disappoint. This is why he constantly reminds everyone of all the great things he’s done, his achievements, and positive traits, because most believe the worst of him. Selfish, shallow, and stupid.

You say prideful, I say holding his own. When he tries to fight AU Rung its to protect his crew, but even so after he punches Rung, not only does he as himself “what the hell am i doing?” But he helps Rung up and proceeds to put himself forward to help.

You say he’s a child, I say he’s as battle warn as everyone else on the Lost Light and he covers it up by being bright, loud, and realistically optimistic.

He is always to put his life of the line for others. Always the first one in last one out.
